The tradition of adorning and ordering a casket spray is typically reserved for the closest family members, often the spouse, children, or siblings of the deceased. Casket sprays are made to cover the bottom half of the casket for an open viewing and full sprays are made for closed casket ceremonies.

Funeral Baskets or Sympathy Baskets are a tribute to the deceased at the funeral service. These large, one sided designs are created in a disposable paper mache, wicker, or plastic basket and are meant to be placed on the floor or a table at the funeral home or church.
