Wolcott – Dorothy (Richmond) Klauber, 86, a lifelong Wolcott resident, passed away peacefully, at The Masonicare on Wednesday, June 1, 2017, after a brief illness. Dorothy was the loving wife of the late E. George Klauber.

Dorothy was born in Waterbury on April 30, 1931, daughter of the late Richard and Angeline (Russo) Richmond. She began her education in the one room stone schoolhouse in Wolcott and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. Her greatest joy and source of pride was her family. She enjoyed summers at their family residence in Naples, Maine where she would often host family, extended family and friends. Along with her husband you were always welcome to join their party. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was an active member of the Wolcott Senior Center. Dorothy loved to travel and often joined her friends in travel around the country. She was an avid fan of the slot machine and enjoyed her visits to the casinos. Dorothy was an excellent cook and shared her dishes with friends and family. She loved her craft works including knitting, crocheting and cross-stich.

Dorothy leaves behind a loving family, George and Linda Klauber of Naples, Maine, Walter and Rita Klauber of Thomaston, CT, Lynn and Paul Motta of New Britain, CT; grandchildren Eric and Kara Klauber, Jason and Mary Motta, Rachel and Jason Rainha, Kimberly and Dan Firestone, Richard and Rachel Klauber, and Michele Motta and great children Karma, Alivia and Luca; in addition, she is survived by her brother, Richard Richmond and his wife Marie of Wolcott as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her brother William Richmond.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 6th, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
