The Piano Brothers

Wolcott – Mr. Andrew J. Wahlig, Jr., 93, passed away on Thursday, November 9, at Vitas Innovative Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Holoweniko) Wahlig.

Andrew was born January 8, 1924 in Bayonne, New Jersey, son of the late Andrew J. and Margaret (Cross) Wahlig. He had been employed in the auto body business for many years as a painter and retired from Town Plot Auto Body. His greatest joy was being with the family for Friday night pizza, being together for Sunday dinners, playing cards, watching NASCAR with his son-in-law Tony. Andrew was always a phone call away when ever needed. The gates of Heaven opened for Andrew nineteen years to the day that they opened for beloved wife Josephine. Together they are reunited.

He is survived by two daughters, Joann Geissler and her husband Robert of Colorado and Margaret Yorrie and her husband Anthony of Wolcott; one son, Andrew J. Wahlig, III of Waterbury; two grandchildren, April Sinclair and Michael Yorrie; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Lauryn and Makayla Sinclair and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James Wahlig.

Andrew’s family would like to thank the staff of Saint Mary’s Hospital on the 3rd floor and Vitas Inpatient Hospice unit for their outstanding services and comfort of care.

A memorial mass will be held in the chapel of St Michael’s Church 62 St Michael's Dr. Waterbury on Saturday, November 25 at 11:00 A.M.
