Wolcott – William Romaniello Jr., 88, of Wolcott, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Summit of Plantsville.

William was born on August 1, 1933 in Waterbury, son of the late William Sr. and Margaret (D’Elia) Romaniello. William served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, being awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. William founded and operated Wolcott Auto Service for nearly 60 years. Cars were his passion, and he taught his craft and shared his passion with many. He was involved in local politics in the Wolcott Democratic party for 20 plus years. He was known for his quick wit and love of storytelling. He impacted all he came into contact with and he will be missed.

William is survived by his son, William Romaniello III and his wife Heather,and his grandchildren James Romaniello & Julia (Romaniello) Camire.

A graveside service will be held on April 12, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 East Main Street, Waterbury.
