William C. Hubert Sr.

Waterbury – Mr. William C. Hubert, Sr., 84, of Waterbury, passed away on April 25, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Mercedes (Donato) Hubert who predeceased him in 2006.

William was born on October 13, 1935, in Waterbury, son of the late Harry Sr., and Anne (Masley) Hubert. William was employed at USI (Coyne) until his retirement and was a member at St. Pius X. Church in Wolcott. William loved to read and cherished the time he was able to spend with his family. He will always be remembered for his caring and happy nature. William loved the New York Yankees and New York Giants.

William is survived by his children, John “Jay” Hubert and his wife Donna, William Hubert Jr., and his wife Christine, and Mary Drost and her husband Mark; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ellen Phelan and her husband Barth, Barbara Welton, and Tom Hubert and his wife Melanie; his in-laws, Barbara Hubert, Rosalie Beals, and Ruth Donato; and his beloved dog, Jada.

He was predeceased by his brothers, George, Harry, and Jack.

The family would like to thank Dr. Uberti and the entire medical staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the love and care shown to William, and all of his friends at the Valley Mall Manor.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at 1:00 P.M. at Edgewood Cemetery in Wolcott. Due to the current government guidelines, those planning on attending are asked to please stay inside of their vehicles.
