Southbury - Thomas Walter Welton Jr., 58, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2018. Tom was predeceased by his mother, Nola Welton, father, Thomas Welton and sister Amy Welton.
He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Terry Cordon, Todd Welton and his wife Patti, Tammy Couture and her husband Paul, and Scott Welton and his wife Kim.
He is a proud uncle of 10 nieces and nephews, Amy and her husband Wayne, Chrissy, Paully, Brandon, Taylor, Andrew, Nick, Makayla, and Wayne.
Tom’s grandma instilled his love for baking which stayed with him throughout his life. He was a pastry chef for Aetna, made numerous cakes for family, and recently won a baking contest at a festival. He enjoyed gardening, and took great pride in his flowers.
Tom and his family would like to thank Dr. Silverman, and the entire staff at Waterbury Pulmonary Associates for the exceptional care and compassion he received for more than 25 years. He was also very lucky to have a huge number of people who loved and supported him on his journey. Throughout the years, there have been many people who have touched Tommy’s life, including Donna, and the Employment Options caregivers, who truly went out of their way to become part of his family. Among his biggest supporters is his church family who brought friendship, a sense of meaning, and tranquility into his life. Tommy touched and inspired so many people throughout his life, he will be truly missed.
Services will be held Monday, August 27th at 11:00AM at the Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held afterward. There are no calling hours.
