Tribute

Waterbury- Thomas Armand Pronovost, 72, passed away suddenly on June 15. Tom, whom many knew as Butch, was born on March 7, 1948, the oldest son of Armand and Christine Pronovost. He was the loving husband of Laurie (Brenneis) Pronovost for 46 years.

After graduating from Kaynor Tech in 1968, Tom joined the Navy Reserves. After serving his country, Tom was honorably discharged in 1973. Soon after leaving the Navy, he married his wife and they had three children. Tom, always the carpenter and builder, founded his own remodeling business, T.A. Pronovost Remodeling. He later worked with his oldest son who took over the business. Even after retiring he was still on the job, helping his son. He couldn’t stay away. When not working Tom enjoyed volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America as a troop leader.

From the time Tom was big enough to hold a hammer, all he ever wanted to be was a carpenter.  Growing up he would spend family summers riding up and down the river in one of the boats he built whether it was a canoe, kayak, or 4-seater.  He loved camping and fishing as a boy and continued his love for these activities as an adult.  He was proud of his sons and daughter – their careers and their families.  He loved to tease his grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews.  Mention pizza and Tom was first in line to grab a slice.  He loved to argue on any subject.  He was always there when anyone needed help.

Tom is predeceased by his parents and a brother Mark Pronovost. He leaves behind his other 9 siblings and their spouses: James, Jane, JoAnn, Mari-Ann, Patrick, and Stephen (Kay Higgins) Pronovost, Christine Lucewicz, Nanette (Bill) Sheridan, and Noel (Mark) Croce; as well as his three children: Michael (Melissa) and David (Alisa) Pronovost, and Trisha (AJ) Jantzen and his 6 grandchildren, his pride and joy: Colby, Lizzie, Maddie, Ryan, Spencer, and Graham.
