Wolcott – Thomas E. Churchelow, 70, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on December 20, 2019 after a long illness.
Tom was born on December 10, 1949 in Bristol, son of the late Peter and Julia (LeMay) Churchelow. He lived most of his live in Wolcott, attended and graduated from the Wolcott School System. Tom served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. He worked in factories in and around Waterbury, retired from Baskin Robbins as a Delivery Truck Driver, and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Tom is survived by his son Attorney Thomas R. Churchelow and his wife Lydia of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; a daughter Jennifer L. Churchelow of Wolcott; his brothers George Churchelow of Wolcott, and John Scheidel of Chicago; his sisters Eva Magaraci and her husband Robert, and Mary Ann Lane and her husband E.J. of Wolcott; his grandchildren Sammy, Alex, and Abbie (Churchelow); and several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his brother Peter G. Churchelow Jr. Tom also had wonderful and loving neighbors Holly Babcock and Judy Jandreau of Wolcott and a life-long best friend Sam Plourde of Waterbury. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Tom had a great love for animals and nature; especially flowers.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Burial will be held privately.
