WOLCOTT – Terrill Douglas Goodman, 77 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, after a long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Terry was born in Niagara Falls, New York on February 4, 1945, to Mildred (Klouse) and William Douglas Goodman. In 1960 his family moved to Wallingford, Connecticut where he attended Lyman Hall High School. After graduation he attended Danbury State College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He began working at the CT Agricultural Experimental Station in Hamden but was drafted into the Army. He spent two years at Fort Meade, Maryland at their Med Lab doing mosquito research. After his discharge he worked for the Department of Interion in Maryland for several months doing research on bird malaria. In the fall of 1970, he enrolled in a master’s program at the University of Connecticut in Storrs where he received a master’s degree in entomology. In 1974 he took a job in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with the USDA where he and his family spent ten years. His job brought them back to Connecticut 1984. Terry retired from the USDA in 1999 and once again worked at the CT Experimental Station in Hamden until he retired in 2007.

Terry leaves a wife of 53 years, Florence Goodman and two children, a son William and his wife, Whitney and children Holly and TJ of San Jose, CA and a daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Andrew Tracy and children Jalynn, Jamison, Jack of Morris, CT. Terry loved his five grandchildren, and they loved their “Poppy” who will be dearly missed. Terry also leaves a brother, William John Goodman and his partner, Donna Daley of Wallingford, CT.

There are no calling hours and services will be private. A celebration of Terry’s life was held with family and friends.
