Wolcott – Sue A. Barnet, 59, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of James R. Barnet.

Sue was born in Richmond Hill, NY on June 10, 1958 to Dorothy (Leidner) Whitenack and the late Frank Whitenack. Sue was a devout Catholic, a devoted wife and mother, and took pride in being able to stay home to raise her three girls. She worked as a substitute teacher at Wolcott High School. Sue enjoyed couponing, taking trips to the casino, and spending time with her beloved dog, Cosmo.

Including her husband, Jim; and mother, Dorothy, Sue is survived by her 3 daughters, Danielle McCormick, and her husband, Joseph, and their son, J.J., of Bristol; Carolyn Barnet, of Wolcott; and Jessica LeClair, and her husband, Matthew, of Enfield; her 4 brothers, Frank Whitenack, and his wife, Rose; John Whitenack; William Whitenack, and his wife, Jane; and Robert Whitenack; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Angelina Barnet; her brother-in-law Michael Barnet, and his wife Dayle; her sister-in-law Kelly Dolby and her husband John; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 111 School Street, Bristol; meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
