It is with sadness that I learned of my second cousin’s passing. Many people do not know their first cousins and much less their second cousins. Because my Canadian grand-father was remarried to his sister-in-law, I got to know my mother’s cousins. My parents would often give hospitality to them when they came from Connecticut to visit their mom. We children benefited from their generosity. My uncle Alide Diamond would shower us with super size candy bars which were unknown to us in our small Quebec town. At my teenage years, when I needed to learn English, he organized that I would spend the summer at his home with Rosemary so that I would become fluent. I did spend the whole summer of 1964 in Wolcott and also about three weeks in 1965. It is because of their generosity and her willingness to have me share her summer that I could learn the language and be accepted to the bilingual program at the secretarial school.
What I know about Rosemary is that she continued on the unselfish path that she learned from her mom and dad. She was the type of person that never uttered a bad word about anyone, she was always positive about people. Her devotion to the dyslexic children and to beautifying her community via the Women’s Club is a testimony to the giving attitude that was in her heart.
When Christ returns to earth to establish His kingdom, I have no doubt that she will be among those to whom He will say “well done, good and faithful servant”…

I am sorry to hear about Rosemary's passing. I am her first cousin, even though we haven't been close, as kids we would spend at least one week every summer at each other's houses. We would go to Lake Compounce together and we both loved cats.
My prayers are with your family.

Sincerely,

Louise Mancini

Our family knew Rosemary for many years from her work at the Wolcott Public Library and her involvement with Farmingbury Women's Club. When our son Andrew was a student at St. Paul HS in Bristol she was instrumental in helping him acquire information to apply for local scholarships. Rosemary was one of the most kind, caring women we have had the pleasure to know. We are so very saddened to learn of her death. We saw Rosemary last when she represented The Farmingbury Women's Club at Wolcott Crossroad's One Clean Day of Fun event in September. Rosemary was always such a joy to be around. Our condolences to Rosemary's family and blessings for strength as you miss and remember her.

Melissa, I wanted to send you my deepest sympathy to you and your entire family. I have always believed in this quote.

Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Diane

So upsetting to learn of the passing of such a wonderful person. I have know Rosemary since grammar school and she was a great friend. After graduating, we both worked our first jobs in Hartford, so we commuted together to save gas money! My mom would always report to me when she would see Rosemary at "club" or volunteering at Busy Bee's sewing pillows. So blessed to have just seen Rosemary at our class reunion. I will miss seeing all the pictures of her grandchildren on her carry bag. Our condolences to Harvey, Michele, Alan and their families. Love, Anita

So sorry to hear this news. Rosemary was a beloved community member and well as in the neighborhood where I grew up. She was always kind and generous to my mother. My heart goes out to her husband and family at this time of sorrow.

I am so saddened and stunned by this news. Rosemary and I were in school together all the way from 1st grade at Alcott School through the end of high school, and we played at each other's houses in our younger days. I was fortunate to spend a little time together at our recent 50th high school reunion. My (late) mother was a member of the Women's Club with Rosemary, and always loved talking with her and working together with her. Rosemary's volunteerism reminded me of what Wolcott was all about growing up. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to Harvey, to their children and their spouses, and to their grandchildren. Rosemary sure was proud of her family.
