New Britain – Robert A. Vitvitsky, 69, of New Britain, formerly of Wolcott, passed away on September 14, 2022 at the Jefferson House in Newington following an extended illness. He was the loving husband of Diane (Driscoll) Vitvitsky.
Bob was born on February 3, 1953 in Waterbury, son of the late Michael and Eva (McConnell) Vitvitsky. He served honorably and proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid golfer and a former Commissioner of the Farmingbury Hills Golf Course. He was a standout baseball player, playing in both high school and college and was a diehard New York Yankees fan. Bob also loved nature and tending to his yard. He loved animals, especially his dogs; and cherished the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Diane, Robert is survived by his daughters, Ashley Rebstad (Tim) and Stacy Sciascia (Don); five grandchildren, Brooke, Madison, Paige, Cole, and D.J.; his brother Bill Vitvitsky; his sister Joan Ciavarella; sister-in-law Susan Driscoll of Mass.; his best friend Vinny Brunetti; and several nieces and nephews. His brother, Mike Vitvitsky, predeceased him.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Jefferson House for the compassion shown to Bob during the past three years.
