Robert R. Vanyo

Wolcott – Mr. Robert Ronald Vanyo, 86, of Wolcott, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Wolcott View Manor. He was the loving husband of 61 years to Carolyn (Reilly) Vanyo.

Robert was born on March 6, 1934 in Duryea, PA, son of the late George and Mary (V​rabel​) Vanyo. Robert served honorably in the United States Navy and worked as a toolmaker for Oxford General Industries INC. in Prospect for 34 years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Naugatuck Elks Club #967, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, and was an avid Boston Red Sox and UConn Huskies fan.

Besides his wife Carolyn, Robert is survived by his children, Sharon Vanyo of Waterbury, Michael Vanyo and his fiancé Linda Lambert or Wolcott, and Jennifer Croce and her husband Frank of Wolcott. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, Lindsey Camacho, Megan Croce and Katie Croce. He is also survived by several beloved family members.

As per Robert’s wishes, funeral services and burial will be held privately.
