Wolcott – Robert E. Pawson, 90, passed away peacefully at home where he lived with his son, Robert and daughter in law Mary Ann, on Monday, September 30, 2019. He was the husband of the late Lois (Schaefer) Pawson.
Robert was born in Bridgeport on February 28, 1929, son of Robert Wright Pawson and Florence (Reeves) Pawson. He received his pilot’s license before he could drive, and was a U-Boat spotter flying over Long Island Sound during World War II. He worked at Eastern Color Printing Company for 40 years. Robert enjoyed model railroading, NASCAR, the Hartford Whalers, and hosting neighborhood corn roasts. Most of all, Robert loved spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his sons, Robert A. Pawson, and his wife, Mary Ann, of Wolcott; and Steven Pawson, and his wife, Jill, of Middletown; his sister, Lois (Pawson) Hatch, of Ocala, FL; his grandchildren, Robert K. Pawson, and his wife, Erica, of Wolcott; Daniel Pawson, of Wolcott; Kiley Riedl, and her husband, Matt, of Plantsville; Jason Pawson; and Joshua Pawson, both of Middletown; his great-grandson, Robert B. Pawson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, October 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. A funeral home service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
