Tribute

Wolcott – “Bob” Robert R. Maringola, 77, passed away on February 18, 2020 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital from complications due to congestive heart failure surrounded by his loving family.

Robert, most commonly referred to as “Bob,” was born on September 8, 1942 in Waterbury, son of the late Onne and Madeline (Zarillo) Maringola. Bob worked for over 60 years in the tire business, and owned All State Tire in Wolcott for the past 25 years. Before Bob passed he completed his dream by opening his new location on 1 Town Line Rd. His legacy will now be passed to his family. Bob loved going on Sunday drives and finding the best restaurant to eat, WWE, attending car shows, and watching old westerns. His heart was in his home. He enjoyed planning family celebrations. Bob’s favorite holidays were Christmas and the Fourth of July. Bob always insisted on making the feast of the seven fishes. His Fourth of July picnic was an anticipated annual event. You could always count on family, friends, good food and tons of fun for his children and grandchildren. Bob loved hosting holidays at his home, cooking for his loving family and his large host of friends. He will be remembered for his loving, caring nature, and as the “family rock.” Bob was more than happy to make All State Tire a place where people can come now only for tires, but also for conversation and impromptu lunch. Bob faced each day with a passion to his tire business, but he will always be known for his strong bound he shared with his family and friends. Bob had a heart of gold, and he will truly be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his three daughters, Jacqueline Maringola, Tracy Longo, and Michele Maringola; his brother Thomas Maringola; five grandchildren, Stephanie Vivenzio, Christopher Maringola, Rosalia Longo, Chloe Costa, and Paxton Costa; two great-grandchildren, Gaetano and Gabriella; and his wife Joan (Jager) Maringola. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Maringola, Jr.; his brother Serafino Maringola; and sister Karen Maringola-Storm.
