Wolcott – Robert A. Becker, Sr. (Bob), 89, passed away on Wednesday, December 7 surrounded by family.
Bob was born in Waterbury on July 27, 1933 to the late Andrew and Hermine (Mohr) Becker. Raised in Waterbury, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, class of 1952. Bob had a seventy year career as a tool maker. After graduating high school, he began his career at Scovill Manufacturing. He then worked for the WD Stanley Co from 1957 until 1964, when he went to work for Jay Max Manufacturing. In 1982, he went to work for Palladin Precision Products, where he worked until his passing.
He will be remembered for his love of yardwork, home improvement projects, and splitting fire wood, but most of all time spent with his family. He was a member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church.
Bob is survived by his son, Robert A. Becker, Jr. and his wife Joyce (Greco) of Wolcott; two daughters, Robin Becker and Patty Gabel, both of FL; five grandchildren, Vinny, Jason, Victoria, Bradley and Skyler; two great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his brother, Philip G. Becker, Sr.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 19, at 10:00 A.M. at the Woodtick Memorial Funeral Home, 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Friends may visit with Bob’s family from 8:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial of cremains will follow in the New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury.
