Waterbury – Mrs. Rita (Kosmoski) Caron, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 15, at her home. She was the widow of Marcel F. Caron.
Rita was born September 13, 1940 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Garneau) Kosmoski. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family and in later years Rita and Marcel cared for intellectually disabled adults for over 20 years.
She is survived by her children, Michael J. Caron and his wife Barbara of Florence, Kentucky, David J. Caron and his wife Gina, their children, Casper and Joleen of Colebrook, Anne M. Krings and her husband Kilian of Prospect, Linda P. Caron of Waterbury and Peter J. Caron and his significant other Linda B. Dwy of Prospect. Marcel and Rita cared for David Zayatz, for 22 years and he was considered a member of the family. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Kosmoski.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 20, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Woodtick Memorial Funeral Home 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 22, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Church 4 Union City Rd. Prospect. Burial of cremains will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
