Mr Renald Allen April

Waterbury – Mr. Ronald Allen April, 78, of Waterbury, entered into the gates of heaven on Christmas Day 2020. He died peacefully after a brief illness at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Smith) April for 52 years. Ronald was born in Saint Honore, Quebec, Canada, on September 9, 1942. He was the son of the late Louis Etienne April and Blanche (Beaulieu) April. Ronald was a CNC operator for many years until his retirement from Cly-Del in 2006.

Known as Ronnie to many, he was an avid bowler for many years at Perillo’s. He took great pride in keeping his property well taken care of. He was a handyman around the house and could fix anything. He enjoyed the many trips to Cape Cod with his family and the occasional trips to the casino. Ronnie always loved spending time with his family, especially the weekly adventures out to Wal-Mart with his granddaughter Olivia and teaching his grandson CJ how to bowl and being his number one fan. He loved the outdoors. He loved nature and fed any animal that came into his yard, except the bear and snakes. Ronnie was loved by many and could always bring a smile to everyone around him.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, left to cherish his memory is his son, James R. April and his wife Jacqueline of Beacon Falls, his daughter Michelle April Musco and her husband Louis of Waterbury, his beloved grandchildren Olivia and CJ of Waterbury; several nieces and nephews and his beloved cats Lucy and Maxine. He was predeceased by his brothers Jean Louis, Joseph, Lucien, and his sister Rejeanne Labonte.

He will be forever missed by his family and friends.

Walk through visitation will be Thursday, December 31, 2020, from 10 – 11:30 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd, Wolcott. A brief memorial service will follow at 11:30. Burial will be private.
