Andover - Maurice Lacombe, 94, of Andover CT, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by loving family, on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Special thanks to the Andover Volunteer Department and the staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care.

He was born in Waterbury, CT on June 15, 1925 to Alfred and Aldea (Gelinas) Lacombe. He left high school to join the Army and was honorably discharged April 1946, Private 1st Class, Company K 376th Infantry Regiment. He was married to the love of his life, Doris (Gelinas) in October 1947, who predeceased him in 1991.

He went to work at Uniroyal in Naugatuck, CT for over 40 years. His passion was the love for his family, watching and playing golf, going to the dog races, horse races, casino, duckpin bowling and scratching lottery tickets.

He is survived by his son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Beatrice, 3 sisters, Cecile Soucy, Lillian Orzell and Irene Lacombe, 3 brothers, Roger Lacombe, Charles Lacombe and Rene Lacombe. He was predeceased by his brother Raymond Lacombe and his sister Theresa Lacombe. He is also survived by 3 granddaughters and their spouses, Theresa and Juan Castillo, Regina and Allen Laine, Elizabeth Lacombe and Jeremy Crowe. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren: Emilia Castillo, Serena Castillo, Clarisa Castillo, Mason Laine, Brady Laine, Kiele Laine, Brendan Crowe and Lauren Crowe.

His family will receive friends for calling hours at Woodtick Memorial Funeral Home, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, CT on Tuesday, October 22nd from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 145 Buckingham Street in Oakville CT.
