Loving family man

Wolcott – Paul J. Pelletier, age 78, passed away surrounded by his family on June 22, 2020. He was born in Fort Kent, ME, son of the late Telesphore and Maria Pelletier.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Nicole Pelletier and leaves his 3 daughters, Lynn Zavarella and her husband Bruno of Berlin; Michelle Cyr and her husband Robert and Lorie Krol and her husband Anthony, both of Wolcott. His grandchildren Danielle Knapp and her husband James, Laura and Stephen Rinaldi, Michael Cyr, Hailey and Alyssa Krol and great granddaughter Kinsley Mae Knapp.

His brother Lucien Pelletier and his wife Sharon of Wolcott, his sisters Theresa Solomita and Madeline Pelletier and her partner in life Karen McDaniel of Waterbury, Nilda Martin and her husband Yvon of Baker Brook, New Brunswick, Canada and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 6 brothers and 5 sisters.

He worked at Cheshire Correctional Institute as a Prison Guard for 25 years and retired after 20 years working in Building Maintenance at Croft Commons in Waterbury. He also worked in construction in his early years.

He was a lifetime member of the Franco American Social Club of Waterbury.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and had many hobbies. He enjoyed working in his yard, picking fiddleheads, hazelnuts, doing puzzles, working in his woodshop, going to the casino and the Franco Club.

Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church (St. Basil the Great Parish) 525 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Those who plan on attending are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, 389 Boundline Road, Wolcott.

Attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Due to restrictions on gatherings, you are kindly asked to leave after paying your respects to allow the next group to enter.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
