Wolcott- Mildred “Mitsy” Watts, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. She was the wife of the late Richard Watts, Sr.
Mildred was born in Harrisburg, PA on December 31, 1932, daughter of the late Freeman and Carrie (Corbin) Diehl and stepdaughter of the late Helen Diehl. She worked at Kmart for 25 years before retiring and went on to work for American Greeting Cards part time. She enjoyed spending her time with family and especially with grandchildren and their many functions. In her spare time, she liked the old coin slots at the Casinos and her computer games.
Mildred is survived by her four sons, Richard Watts, Jr., and his wife, Sandra, of Waterbury; Randy Watts, and his wife, Bethanne, of Wolcott; Barry Watts, and his wife, Kathy, of Wolcott; and Kyle Watts, and his wife, Victoria, of Wolcott; her two sisters, Betty Knightly, of Watertown; and Sandra Chase, of Cheshire; her 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Including her husband, Richard, Mildred was predeceased by her son, Glenn Watts; and her brother, Guy Diehl.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at Wolcott Congregational Church, 185 Center Street, Wolcott. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mildred’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
