Wolcott – Melanie Pomerleau, 89, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Gerard Pomerleau.
Melanie was born in Pontbriand, P.Q., Canada on June 22, 1929 to the late Thomas and Anna (Nadeau) Jacques. She worked for 25 years in Telefax Manufacturing in Waterbury before retiring in 1993. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and going to the Charles Rietdyke Senior Center in Wolcott.
Her memories will be cherished by her daughter, Helene Byrne, and her husband, Martin, of Bristol; her son, Larry Pomerleau, and his wife, Alicia, of Wolcott; her sister, Marie Blanche Jacques, of Kinnear’s Mills, P.Q. Canada; her 4 grandchildren, Michael Byrne; Nicole Pomeroy, and her husband, Andrew; Alexa Pomerleau; and Gregory Pomerleau; her great-granddaughter, Lillian Pomeroy; and many nieces and nephews.
Including her husband Gerard, Melanie was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Gerard, Georgianna, Rose-Eva, Anna-Marie, Irene, Lucia, and Jean-Thomas.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 6 from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:30 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Parish. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott.
The family of Melanie would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital for their excellent care.
