Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather
Wolcott – Matthew J. Susarchick, Jr., 72, entered eternal rest on Monday, November 27, 2017, with his beloved family by his side. He was the loving husband of Joan (Morin) Susarchick for 52 years.
Matthew was born in Waterbury on April 22, 1945 to the late Matthew J. Susarchick, Sr. and Florence (Farina) Gryniuk. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for Pratt & Whitney in Southington and Middletown for 43 years. Matthew was an avid golfer and enjoyed taking his boat out on Hitchcock Lake. He looked forward to trips to Myrtle Beach with friends and was an avid Red Sox fan and also loved both Men’s and Women’s UConn Basketball, but most of all, loved spending time with each one of his grandchildren.
Including his devoted wife, Joan, Matthew is survived by his adoring children, Michael Susarchick, and his wife, Stefani, of Lakeland, FL; Laurie Sargeant, and her husband, Howard, of Waterbury; Michele Susarchick, of Waterbury; and Kimberly Susarchick, of Davenport, FL, formerly of Wolcott; his brother, Leon Susarchick; his cherished grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Madison, Emily, Kaitlyn, Luke, Jenna, and Josh ; his aunt, Anna Gardino; his sister-in-law, Theresa Morin; his niece Vicky Morin, and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 1 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Church, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the ICU in St. Mary’s Hospital, especially Robin Cracco, for the exceptional care given to Matthew and his family during his stay.
