Tribute

Terryville – Judith Ann (LeBeau)Roy, 80, passed away on January 22, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the loving and devoted wife of 58 years to the late Donald P. Roy who passed away in 2018.

Judith was born on May 19, 1940 in Bristol, and was raised in Southington, daughter of the late Francis and Lillian (Barnett) LeBeau.

Judith and Donald were high school sweethearts, she graduated from the Southington High School class of ’58.  They could be found at Serafino’s restaurant or dancing around the Bristol area. Her and Donald married shortly after in June ’60 and settled in Wolcott where they raised their family.  They remained there for forty years until their retirement when they moved to Flagler Beach, Florida, where they remained until her beloved husband passed in 2018.  “Judy” spent her time mostly as a homemaker until her children were older then worked various manufacturing jobs in the area.  When not taking care of her family, you could find her enjoying herself playing bingo at either the VFW or American Legion of Wolcott, where she made many lifelong friends.  She continued in Florida and was quickly accepted into a new set of life-long friends.  Judy was always known for her fun-loving personality, and always, no matter the situation, wanting to make you laugh.  One of her most used quotes was “gotta laugh”.  She truly loved spending time with her grand-children and extended family, she was lovingly named “Grahm-cracker”.  She will be forever remembered at every family gathering for making the best eggplant parmigiana and lasagna.

Judith is survived by her daughter Donna Marie Roy (Karl Sands); her son James Roy; five grandchildren, Andrea Riccio Jackie, Matthew Knapp, Bailey, Gabrielle, and Delaney Roy; her great-granddaughter Kayla Jackie; her sister Gail Chickosky (Bob); in-laws Janet and Jack Lozinski, and Steve and Tammy Roy; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Besides her husband Donald, she was pre-deceased by her son Jeffrey.
