John J. Begley Sr.

Wolcott - John “Jack” Begley, 74 passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at St. Mary's hospital after a brief illness of COVID-19. 

Jack was born on April 19, 1945 in Waterbury to the late James and Nancy (Panasci) Begley. He attended Waterbury schools and was a self-employed carpet installer for over 50 years. He was a member of the National Guard, he was one of the founders of the Wolcott High School Parent Music Association and an honorary member of the Wolcott Ambulance. 

Jack leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his wife of 54 years, Doris (Laferriere) Begley of Wolcott; his two beloved children John Begley Jr. (Karen) of Harwinton and Lori Vaccarelli (Anthony) of Wolcott. He leaves behind three grandchildren, whom he loved more than life itself, Angelina and Anthony Vaccarelli of Wolcott and Julia Begley of Harwinton. He is also survived by his brother James Begley (Ann) of Wolcott; his Mother-in-law, Rolande Lannon of Wolcott and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Barbara Gagliardi, her husband, William Gagliardi, and their children, William Gagliardi and Nancie Guillet.

Calling hours will be held at the Woodtick Memorial Funeral Home 420 Woodtick Rd. on a date and time to be announced when family and friends can once again join together.
