Tribute

Ripplemead, VA – Jesse G. Cooper, 82, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021. He was the husband of the late Marie (Tegolini) Cooper.
 
Jesse was born in Narrows, Virginia on March 15, 1939, son of Pete and Bertha (Gautier) Cooper; and raised by his aunt and uncle, Fred and Ruth Gautier, whom he referred to as parents. Jesse was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and also served two years prior in the U.S. Army. He was a master carpenter and owned his own construction company, J&M Builders, for many years. After retiring he proudly drove rigs and tankers long distance. Jesse was a hardworking, tough, proud and stubborn man, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
 
Jesse leaves behind his two sons, Lee Cooper, of Morris; and Randy Cooper, of Wolcott; his two daughters, Linda Cooper, of Wolcott; and Karen Cooper-Tripp, of Wolcott; his sisters, Alice Stafford and Martha Lucas and brother, Jimmy Cooper all of Virginia, 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.
 
Including his wife, Marie, who passed in 2016, Jesse was recently predeceased by his beloved dog, Chops.
 
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 10:30 a.m. at New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Road, Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery office.
