Wolcott – Mrs. Jeannine M. (Rousseau) Zarrella, 84, of Wolcott, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of 63 years to Mr. Joseph V. Zarrella.
Jean was born on January 3, 1934 in Waterbury, daughter to the late Arcade and Claudia (Lacroix) Rousseau. Jean started the billing office in 1972 and was the office manager at Naugatuck Valley Radiologist Association for 23 years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Leo’s Church and an active member at Carolyn’s Place in Waterbury for a number of years. Jean was an avid bowler and for many years was the Secretary and Treasurer of the Colonial Senior League in Wolcott.
Besides her husband Joseph, Jean is survived by two children, Deborah Zarrella of Waterbury, and Steven Zarrella and his wife Cammie of Watertown; three grandchildren, Nicole Jupin and her husband George, Joseph Zarrella III and his wife Melissa, and Robert Zarrella and his wife Tina; three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Shawn, and Gianna; her brother, Rev. Robert Rousseau of Enfield; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Joseph V. Zarrella Jr.; and three siblings, Fernand and Lionel Rousseau, and Lillian Foley.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 30 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Dr., Waterbury. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
