Tribute

Wolcott – Mr. George Robert Christoff, 83, passed away on Sunday evening, July 31, at the Cheshire Regional Health Care. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Jennette) Christoff.

George was born March 13, 1939, in Mahanoy, PA, son of the late John and Mary (Sabalouskas) Christoff. George had worked for many years in manufacturing, working for Bar-Works Manufacturing for 28 years and Gerald Metals for 27 years. He will be remembered as an avid handyman who loved his cats, enjoyed mowing the lawn on his two tractors, a round of golf, walks in the woods, woodworking, ice cream, potato chips, cartoons and trips to Home Depot.

He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Christoff of Wolcott and Wendy Strollo and her husband Michael of Milford; his sister, Elizabeth Christoff of Waterbury and his grandchildren, Joseph and Nicholas Strollo; sister-in-laws, Lucille Affhauser, June Christoff and Barbara Christoff and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, John Christoff, Norman Christoff, Raymond Christ, Charles Christ, Anthony Christoff, Robert Christ and Rosemary Christoff.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 3, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M at Woodtick Memorial Funeral Home 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Leo the Great Church
(Mary the Mother of the Church Parish) 14 Bentwood Drive in Waterbury. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery in Wolcott.
