Wolcott – Frances Mary (Perrault ) McCann, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Vitas Innovative Care Unit in St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late George McCann, and the late James P. Carney Sr.
Frances was born on April 11, 1927 in Albany, NY, daughter of the late William J. and Mildred E. (Killtz) Perrault. Frances held many different jobs throughout the years, such as an employee at Scovill Manufacturing, Sealy Mattress, and Uniroyal. She was also a Home Health Aide for a number of years. She was also a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital and the State VNA Hospital. She was a member of the Prospect VFW 8075, the Wolcott American Legion Post 1979, the Marine Corp. League Auxiliary of Brass City and she was a Gold Star Mother.
Frances is survived by her son, Paul Carney of Waterbury; her daughter, Natalie Corso of Winsted; two sisters, Carol Perriello of Southbury, Brenda Linkfeur of North Creek, NY; her brother Wayne Perrault; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was predeceased by her son, James P. Carney, Jr., who was killed in the Vietnam War; her sister Natalie Hogancamp; and her brother William Perrault.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cheshire House and Vitas Hospice for the exceptional care they showed to Frances.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck.
