Filippa Valenti

Wolcott – Filippa (Piazza) Valenti, 89, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Apple Rehab in Watertown. She was the loving wife of the late Giuseppe Valenti.

Filippa was born on September 23, 1931 in Ribera, Sicily, Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Petronella (D’Alarti) Piazza. Filippa immigrated to the United States in 1968 with her family. She loved cooking, baking, knitting and traveling.

Filippa is survived by her two sons, Jerry Valenti, and Anthony Valenti and his wife Deborah, all of Wolcott; two grandchildren, Cara and Joseph Valenti; her sister-in-law Antoinette Piazza; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins in the United States and Italy. She was predeceased by her siblings, Pasquale Piazza and Antoinette (Piazza) Valenti.

Walk through calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 31 at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choosing.
