Eleanor B. Kazemekas

Wolcott – Eleanor “Ellie” (Baroni) Kazemekas, 84, passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2023. She was the devoted wife of Edward Kazemekas, Jr.

Ellie was born on April 14, 1939 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph and “Jennie” Baroni. She graduated from Wilby High School. She worked as a secretary for Judd and Puffer Insurance in Waterbury. Her family was her life. She was an amazing homemaker, cook, and gift-giver, the best mother and grandmother and was always there to lend an ear to anyone who needed it. Generous to a fault, she was known to secretly fold up money in her “Italian handshake” to her cherished grandchildren often. Every holiday was extra special, with gifts on top of gifts, especially on Christmas Eve. Eddie and Ellie would have celebrated 60 years of marriage next month. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her lifelong friends, Von and Carmen Yanielli, Jay and Richie Rinaldi, Joyce and Hank Rinaldi and families for many years.

In addition to her husband Eddie, she is survived by her daughter Pam (Lenny) Greene; her son Craig (Heidi) Kazemekas; her four grandchildren, Craig Kazemekas, Alayna Greene, Lauren Kazemekas, and Michael Greene; and her beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters Vivian “Dolly” (Stanley) Fede, Josephine (Nello) Damiani,

The Kazemekas family would like to thank Bristol Hospital Hospice at Home, especially her angels, Allison and Tammy, for their compassionate care over the last few weeks.

Calling hours are Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 10:00 to 12:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A prayer service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Burial is private.
