Waterbury – Mr. Edward F. Bertulis, 87, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 9, on his way home from visiting his wife at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. He was the husband of the late Janet M. (Charron) Bertulis. 
 
Edward was born December 28, 1929 in Waterbury, son of the late Anthony and Victoria (Wywoda) Bertulis. Raised in Waterbury he attended local schools and was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. He had been employed at Waterbury Farrell Foundry for over thirty years; he then went on to work for the City of Waterbury for ten years. In 1951 he married his soulmate, Janet M. Charron. They had 64 years of loving marriage. Edward was a devoted husband, and dedicated caregiver to his wife in her final years. 
 
Edward was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and got to watch a dream come true in 2004 when they won the World Series. He had been involved in duck pin bowling at the St. Joseph lanes for over 40 years. He enjoyed trips to the casino and loved all his weekend outings with his caring sister. Edward was also a communicant and active parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church. He will be remembered most for his love of his family and his devotion to the Catholic Church. 
 
He is survived by one son, Mark Bertulis and his wife Tracy; four daughters, Lynn Poole and her partner Ed Lange, Kathleen Bertinetti and her husband Joseph, Jacquelyn McDowell and her partner Keith Howard and Nancy Bertulis; one sister, Shirley Bertulis; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Poole, Rebekah, Joshua and Emily McDowell and Kassondra and Todd Bertulis, and two great-grandchildren. 
 
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 14 at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Church, Charles St., Waterbury. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
