Mrs. Dorothy Y (Deziel) Caggiano passed away on Wednesday December 16, 2020 at the Glendale Center. Dorothy was born April 19th 1938 to Bella (Houle) Deziel and Liguri “Joe” Deziel in Bridgeport, Ct. Dorothy was born on her Fathers birthday. Dorothy grew up with a large family having 17 aunts and uncles on her mother’s side of the family.
Dorothy graduated from Waterbury Catholic High class of 1956. Dorothy met the love of her life Nick while roller skating at Hamilton Park in Waterbury. They were married on

 

June 26th 1959 at Saint Ann’s Church and built their life long home and their family in Waterbury. Dorothy worked as a book keeper for several companies and was co-owner of the V & C Package Store. She volunteered for many senior organizations.
   
Dorothy was a social butterfly and could light up a room and start conversations with anyone she loved playing cards, board games, bingo and going to the casinos. She loved to travel and visited many places with Nick and later with her senior groups. Dorothy loved to square dance and travelled with Nick to many square dancing conventions. Dorothy could usually be found at one of her grand children’s games, school events and celebrations. Grammie as she was known loved being around her grandchildren and bragging about them on occasion. Dorothy was happiest at family gatherings and holidays where see could visit and interact with her grandchildren

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Nicholas J Caggiano Sr, brothers Roger and Richard Deziel and a sister Aline (Deziel) Pronovost.

She is survived by her children, Nicholas J Caggiano Jr and his wife Donna of Weare, NH. Michelle and Albert Lasky of Waterbury, CT. Michael and Carolyn Caggiano of Cheshire CT. Grandchildren: Kristen and Peter Perrinez, Mark and Leah Lasky, Domenic and Sharon Caggiano, Michael and Kimberly Lasky, Dana Caggiano, Steven and Megan Caggiano, Samantha Caggiano, Renee Caggiano Anthony and Katelyn Lasky. 6 Great Grandchildren Grayson, Maddeline, Carter, Gabriella, Aubrey, and Layla; She also leaves behind a former daughter in law Gena Roncarti, many cousins, nieces and nephews from her very large family as well as a special nephew Robert Pronovost.
