Wolcott – Mr. Dennis J. Danisevich, 78, peacefully passed away on Friday evening, December 4, at his home with his wife of 55 years, Barbara A. (Dugan) Danisevich by his side.

Dennis was born on July 21, 1942 in Waterbury, son of the late John A. and Mary (Verseckas) Danisevich. He was a graduate of Margaret Croft High School, class of 1960 and then went on to serve his country in Germany from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1964. Upon returning home he began his career as tool maker, starting at Vickers, then Risdon Manufacturing and retired from Illinois Tool Works in 2001.

Dennis loved to be surrounded by his family and was affectionately called Poppy by his grandchildren. He loved fishing, cribbage, target shooting, camping with his many friends at the “Island” and camping with his family in Rhode Island. Dennis will be remembered for his love of animals, especially his friend Roscoe. He was a member of the Wolcott Landowners Association and the Wolcott VFW Post 1979.

In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his son, Kevin Danisevich and his wife Lisa (Dumas) Danisevich of Canterbury; his daughter, Pamela (Danisevich) Fernandes of Wolcott; his grandchildren, Michael Danisevich, Cameron Danisevich, Tyler Fernandes, Nathan DesMarais and Julia Dates; his in-laws, David Dugan, James Dugan, Edward Dugan, Ruth Meilke and Alan Dugan and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Danisevich and his brother-in-law, John Dugan.

Walk through calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 9, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church (St. Basil the Great Parish) in Wolcott. Burial with full military honors will be private. Masks are required to enter the funeral home and the church. All social distancing guidelines will be strictly enforced.
