David R. Welsh

Waterbury – David Ronald Welsh, 50, born February 21, 1972 in Waterbury, son of Mary Doner, passed away on May 26, 2022 after a long illness.

Alter high school Dave worked for Chilcoat Siding. He then went on to work for Lighting Services for many years and then Brite Lighting for many more. Later in life, he did home improvements and computer repair until his health began to decline.

Besides his mother of Waterbury, he is survived by his stepfather Joseph Doner of Plainville; his son Noah Welsh of Waterbury; his sister Shelly Gendron and her husband, Nicholas of Margate, Fl.; step mother Debra Barkas, and sister Heather Welsh of California; and step siblings Eric Doner of Bristol and Michele Bartolini of Florida. He also leaves his nieces, Shannon Ryan of New Haven and Deanna Ryan of Kansas. He also leaves several cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his father, David Welsh; maternal grandparents Leonard and Mary Miller, and paternal grandmother, Maureen Ricci, and several aunts and uncles.

David will be remembered for his kindness to others, his love of exotic animals, and for his door
always being open to anyone in need. Most importantly, he will be remembered for the love he had for his son. He was ever the jokester and always had people laughing.

A Christian memorial service will be held on June 11, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston, 135 Main Street, Thomaston. Out of respect to the church, masks are required. Burial will be private.
