David Pape, 43, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 12, 2016 of natural causes. He was the only child of James and Eileen “Lee” (Buckingham) Pape.

David was born on June 20, 1972, in Waterbury. From a young age, David was very involved in his community and was also a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America. He attended Wolcott grammar schools and graduated from Holy Cross High school in Waterbury. He went on to obtain two Bachelor degrees from UConn, a Masters degree from Sacred Heart University and a 6th year Certificate from Southern Conn. State University. David had worked as a sports writer for the Waterbury Republican-American for two years after graduating from UConn, and had been teaching at Wolcott High School for the past 19 years. He was an avid bowler, often bowling 300 games (a perfect score), and enjoyed fishing with his father and his son, David.  He was an avid UConn and Yankee fan. Most importantly, he was a loving son and devoted father to his three children.

Including his parents, Jim and Lee, David is survived by his three children, David, Lilah, and Allie; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Friday, March 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial , 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from Woodtick Memorial, to St. Michael’s Church, 62 St. Michael Drive, Waterbury for 10 a.m. Mass. Burial will be held privately.
