Wolcott - David F. Angell Jr., 84 passed away peacefully on July 15, 2018 at home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth J. (Antonio) Angell for 65 years,
David was born in Waterbury on June 13, 1934 a son of the late David F. Angell Sr. and the late Edna Grace (Lapointe) (Angell) Volz. He served his country for 8 years in the USArmy and the USArmy Reserves and was stationed in the US as well as over seas. While in the service he earned his GED and was awarded The Good Conduct Medal. David was a retired commercial route milkman for several local dairies ending his 39 year career at Marcus Dairy in Danbury. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 677 for 39 years prior to his retirement. David was very active in the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master and Neighborhood Commissioner in the 60’s and 70’s and enjoyed many summers weeks camping at Camp Mattatuck in Plymouth, CT. He was a former member of the American Legion, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Club and the Wolcott Senior Center. David enjoyed playing pool, bowling and bird watching. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan and a diehard NY Giants Fan. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Pius X Church in Wolcott, CT`.
Besides his wife Elizabeth of 65 years he leaves his daughter Karen DePara and her husband Peter. His Grandchildren Peter DePara and Kayla DePara all of which are from Wolcott. A daughter in-law Sue (Petke) Angell of Northfield. He leaves his twin brother Edmund Angell and his wife Rose, his brother John “Jack” Angell and his wife Mary all of Waterbury, a sister Joan (Angell) Thomas and her husband James of Seymour, a sister Ann (Angell) (Burleigh) Willey of Gorman, Texas, a brother Joseph Volz and his wife Ruth of Plymouth, CT and a sister in-law Cheryll (Barbuto) Angell of Homestead, Fl, and several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his son David F. Angell III and his brothers William Angell and James Angell Sr.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday July 18 from 9:00am to 10:30am at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. With the cortege leaving Woodtick Memorial at 10:30 to St Pius X Church 517 Woodtick Road for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
