April 14, 1933 ~ October 29, 2023 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Catherine Ann (Oliver) Livermore

CHESHIRE-Catherine Ann (Oliver) Livermore, 90, of Cheshire passed away at home on Sunday, October 29th.

Born on April 14, 1933 in Waterbury, she was the daughter of George and Mary (O’Brien) Oliver.  She was a 1951 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury.  She was a devout Roman Catholic and proud of her Irish heritage.

In 1957, she married Norman Livermore and in 1958 built and moved into her forever home in Cheshire.  Her wish was to remain in this home until her death which she was able to do with the wonderful help of “The Key” who provided companionship to her these past few weeks.

While living at home and when her children were younger, she worked for her father at Oliver’s Supermarket.  She later worked for Cheshire Schools as a lunch server retiring in 2017 after 29 years of service.  Her love of children was apparent to all.

She attended many Cheshire High School events, West Point football games and George Washington basketball games.  She was also an avid Red Sox fan.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Catherine was pre-deceased by her husband, Norman, in July 2023.

Left to cherish her memory and carry on her loving legacy are her brother George (Fran) of East Haven; her children David, Barbara (Karl) Reer, Carol (Timothy) Carignan, Janice, Richard (Pauleen), Nancy Cocchiola and Robert (Sara); her grandchildren Rachel, Lisa, Rebecca, John, Michael, Elisabeth, Peter, Evan, Megan, Aimee, Aubrey, Andrew, Matthew, Madelyn, David, Stephen, Thomas, Tyler, Brian, William and David and twenty great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband she is predeceased by her parents, her infant sister Mary Ellen, and her son-in-law Thomas Cocchiola.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 4th at 10 AM at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church 175 Main Street Cheshire.  Private burial in the family plot will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.  There are no calling hours. Woodtick Memorial has been entrusted with Catherine’s arrangements. Visit for online  condolences.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the George M. and Mary Oliver Scholarship at Connecticut Community Foundation
