Wolcott – Blandine “Memere” Clement, 93, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020. She was the wife of Alphonse A. Clement for 72 years.
Blandine was born in Waterbury on March 8, 1926, to the late William and Lena (Page) Aubin. She attended St. Anne’s School, and was a devout Catholic. She was a founding member of St. Pius X Church. Memere loved to cook, play cards, and go to the casino. She was a Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts Leader. She was very proud of her French Canadian heritage. Memere loved children, especially all of her grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Including her husband, Alphonse Clement, Memere leaves behind her son, Roger “Pete” Clement (Angela); her daughters, Marie Legassey; and Louise Pietrorazio (Jerry); her 8 grandchildren, Ricky Legassey (Faith); Eric Legassey (Jeni); David Legassey (Teri); Jeremy Legassey (Shannon); Nicole Cohen (Seth); Michael Pietrorazio; Heather Clement-Corin (David); and Justin Clement (Elizabeth); many great and great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and caring support from her sister in law, Ruth Aubin, and niece, Lena “Winky” Geraci.
She was predeceased by her siblings, infant Rita Aubin; Anita Gagnon; William Aubin; Robert Aubin; Mitzi Persico; Ivan Aubin; Roger Aubin; and Richard Aubin; and son in law Richard Legassey.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery.
