Mrs Barbara A. Goodrich

Wolcott – Mrs. Barbara A. (Zukoski) Goodrich, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 28 at her home with her husband and daughter by her side. She was the wife of Otis A. Goodrich for 62 years.

Barbara was born May 10, 1940 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (Draper) Zukoski. Upon graduating high school, Barbara enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served honorably. It was during her enlistment that she would meet her future husband, Otis, who was also serving. Following their discharge from military service they settled in Connecticut. Over the years she followed her passion and love of art by taking classes to improve her craft. Barbara was an avid reader who enjoyed the classics and modern literature. She enjoyed planting flowers and watching wildlife. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother and as a welcoming, friendly person to all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughter Jennifer (Goodrich) Trombley and grandchildren Bennett Trombley and Gabrielle Trombley of Wolcott; nephews Michael Gensiejewski and David Gensiejewski of Florida, James Zukoski of Connecticut and Marjorie (Zukoski) Boudreaux of Ohio; she also leaves close family friends referred by her as “adopted” children; Gerald Byram and Maurine (Andrade) Mitnick. Her siblings, Joan (Zukoski) Gensiejewski of Florida and Robert Zukoski of Connecticut, predeceased her.

The family would like to express thanks to Visiting Angel’s aides Chris and Shay for their care, devotion and friendship during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be private. Burial with military honors will be held in Higganum.
