Mr Antonio DiManto

Wolcott – Antonio DiManto, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Gioconda (Tirino) DiManto.

Antonio was born in St. Agatha Dei Goti, Italy. The son of Antonio DiManto and Giovanna (Biscardi) DiManto.

Antonio and his family moved to Wolcott in 1966 where he became a Master barber, owning his own shop, Tony’s Barber Shop, in Naugatuck, for 55 years.

Along with his wife of 62 years, he is survived by his son, Louis DiManto, and his wife, Dana, of Indian Trial, NC; his two daughters in Wolcott, Giovanna Dauphinais, and her husband, William; and Rosa Lund; and his son in law Kevin Burns. He is predeceased by his daughter, Gilda Burns.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, William DiManto, and his wife Ashley; and Phillip DiManto, and his wife Donna, of North Carolina; Kristina and Eric Dauphinais; Nick, Allyson, and Sarah Lund; and Sean, Tom, and Jaci Burns; three great grandchildren, Adrianna; Marley; and Nora DiManto; and many family members, nieces, and nephews, in Italy; and many close family friends.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Due to restrictions on gatherings, you are kindly asked to leave after paying your respects to allow the next group to enter. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
