Wolcott - Anthony G. Ranco, 92, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2018 at the Village at East Farms surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Christine (Morrone) Ranco.

Anthony was born on March 13, 1926 to the late Sarah C. Ranco and was raised on Indian Island, Penobscot Nation in Old Town, Maine. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. Anthony was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and enjoyed his summers in the Cape, winters in Florida and trips to the casino. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and love of family.

Anthony is survived by his children, Darlene Corbo, Catherine Macelis and her husband Tony, Cynthia Burns and her husband Richard, and Theodore “Ted” Ranco and his wife Ellen; five grandchildren, Cassie Corbo, Stacy Raill and her husband Michael, Bree Bozzuto, Anthony Macelis, and Christopher Ranco; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jasmine, and Mia; his longtime companion Jean Billington and her daughters Kim Bechert and her husband Bill, and Karen Johnson and her husband Ron, and their families. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Michael Corbo.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Village at East Farms and Hartford Healthcare at Home, especially Angelica Pablon and Donna from Always Best Care in Bristol for the kindness and tender care shown towards Anthony.

Calling hours are Friday, December 21, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
