Waterbury – Mrs. Annette P. “Netty” (Bunker) Searles, 71, passed away on Thursday, March 22, at her home. She was the widow of Kenneth H. Searles, Sr.
Annette was born December 14, 1946 in Damariscotta, Maine, daughter of the late John O. and Yvette (LeVasseur) Bunker. Annette moved to Waterbury with her family at an early age and attended local schools. She had been employed by the City of Waterbury working in food service as a lunch lady at Wilby High School for several years and retired from food service at Kennedy High School In 2010. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, jokes, playing cards and trips to the casino, but most of all for her love of family.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth H. Searles, Jr and his wife Michele of Waterbury; her daughter, Heidi Izzi and her husband Dominic of Waterbury; one brother, Wayne A. Bunker of Waterbury; three sisters, Joyce A. Fournier and Kathleen Battaglia, both of Waterbury and Tammy Bunker of Colchester; three grandchildren, Rebecca and Anthony Izzi and Lily Stangaroni and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Nora Dennis.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday evening, March 28, at 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until time of service. Burial is private.
