It is with deep sadness that we announce that Anna Blazek, 77, of Wolcott, beloved wife of Antonin J. Blazek, after 55 years of marriage is resting in peace, passing away on Wednesday, Oct 20, 2021.
She was born to the late Anna & Jindra Hladky on June 17, 1944 in Zlin, the Czech Republic. In 1969, Anna along with her husband and son left behind everything, countless family members and friends to start a bold and new life in the United States. They came to this country with only a few hundred dollars and the items they could carry. Originally settling in Waterbury CT, they later moved to Wolcott CT in 1976. She worked in Cheshire at the Holgrath Corp for almost 20 years with many friends.
Anna enjoyed and was an exceptional cook who also loved to bake. She enjoyed spending countless days at the beach with her husband. Above anything else, she enjoyed entertaining family and friends year round. She was selfless, loving and one of the strongest women you could ever meet. Her legacy will continue in our hearts, our minds and all the great memories we shared and enjoyed with her.
In addition to her husband, Anna is survived by a daughter, Nicole Blazek, of New Haven, her son Antonin, and his wife Kimberly Blazek, of Southington; two brothers, Jindra and Karel Hladky both of the Czech Republic; two grandchildren Samantha and Kylie Blazek of Southington. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces & nephews, friends and family both in the Czech Republic and the United States.
Services will be held privately.
