Alphonse J. Clement

Wolcott – Alphonse Joseph Clement, 98, of Wolcott, passed away on January 2, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of the late Blandine Clement for 72 years.

Alphonse was born on March 3, 1924 in Milville, MA, son of the late Theophile and Marie Louise (Gelina) Clement. Alphonse served honorably in the United States Army and was extremely proud of his service to his country. He was a long time supervisor for the Wolcott Department of Public Works. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his yard, walking; and cherished the time he was able to spend with his loving family. He was also a long time communicant and founding member of St. Pius X Church in Wolcott.

Alphonse leaves behind his three children, Roger Clement (Angela), Marie LaGassey, and Louise Pietrorazio (Jerry); eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; his sister-in-laws Ruth and Judy Aubin; his niece Lena Geraci; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Blandine; and nine siblings.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 5 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery.
