Wolcott - Alfred N. Barbieri, 79, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2023 at the VITAS Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of 57 Years to Marilyn (Scofield) Barbieri.
Alfred was born on September 16, 1943 in Waterbury, son of the late Nicholas and Bertha (Orso) Barbieri. He served honorable and proudly in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time at home and tending to his yard, and was an avid collector of many things. He liked reading and was a history buff.
Alfred will always be remembered as Uncle Al, the one who always gave a lending hand to family, friends, and neighbors. He enjoyed sitting on his deck with everyone making sweet memories, as he loved to just sit on his deck and chat away for hours.
Besides his wife, Alfred is survived by his daughter, Lisa Emons and her husband Christopher; his grandchildren, Mark and Christina Emons; and his brother Robert Barbieri. He will be missed by his niece Karen Gaudiosi, who never left the family's side as she comforted and supported Uncle Al, Marilyn, and Lisa through his last few months of life.
He was predeceased by his children, Mark and Mary Ann Barbieri; and his brother Donald Barbieri.
Calling hours are Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 10:00 to 12:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A Funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery.
