Yvon Emond, 83, of Wolcott, passed away on October 8. He was the husband of the late Jeannine (Bouchard) Emond, of 54 years.
Yvon was born on July 31, 1932 to the late Hilaire and Alphena (Nadeau) Emond, in Les Etrois, Canada, and raised in Lac Baker, NB. He worked on the CNR, and then moved to Waterbury in 1965, due to lack of work. Yvon was a very hard-working man, always working multiple jobs at a time to support his family. He was an employee of Scovilles for over 25 years. With a lifelong interest of becoming a police officer, Yvon became a member of the CT State Auxiliary, Troop I, in Bethany, in his 40s. He was also a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club.
Yvon is survived by his daughters, Lee Ann Grimm, and her husband, Paul, of MD; Yvonne Augur, and her husband, Brian, of East Haven; Line Johnson, and her husband, Stephen, of Waterbury; and Liette Bouchard, of Waterbury; his sister, Germaine Albert, of Canada; his grandchildren, Kevin Pelletier, and his wife Elizabeth, of Maryland; Christine Pelletier, of California; Christopher and Monica Augur, of East Haven; Stephen and Anita Johnson, of Florida; Laure-Lyne and Christopher Mancini, of Waterbury; Shawna and Anthony Sullivan, of Meriden; Corey, Nathan and Travis Bouchard, all of Waterbury; his 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife, Yvon is predeceased by his son, Daniel Emond; his son-in-law, Jimmy Bouchard; his sister Aline Morelle and Rita Nadeau; and his brothers Norman and Lionel Emond.
Arrangements: A calling hour will be held Thursday, October 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, to The Shrine of St. Anne for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
