We sadly announce the passing of Mr. Winston “Winnie” Boulier on the 14th of September at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport at the age of 84 years.

Winston was born on July 14, 1942 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Edward and Annabelle (Butler) Boulier. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a retired machinist.

For most of his life Winnie lived in the Stratford area. Sitting at Bond’s Dock in Stratford for breakfast while watching the birds and boats go by was one of his favorite past times. One of Winnie’s favorite hobbies was wood working at his longtime friend Armand Ricci’s wood shop. He enjoyed taking pics and developing his own photography. He recently started going to the Stratford Baldwin Center for Bingo with his special friend Arlene Brainard. He also had many pets over the years including his parrot Nick that he has had for over 40 years.

Most of Winnie’s immediate family has passed away, including his son Richard Boulier, his sisters Edwina (John) Lago, Carol (Harold) Bedat and his brother Johnny Boulier. He does leave a granddaughter Nadia Boulier and some nieces and nephews. Winnie was predeceased by his life partner of over 50 years Eleanor Mullens and her children Lynne and Donald. Winnie will be missed by many cherished friends and family including his best friend Bruno Suligoj, his longtime neighbor and extended family friend Kathy Stolz and her family, and the staff of VA home care.

On Tuesday September 22nd at 1PM Winston Boulier will be given military honors as he is laid to rest with his family in New Pine Grove Cemetery on Meriden Rd in Waterbury.
