William J Rupenski: Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather
On February 5, 2015, William 'Bill' Rupenski's life journey came to an end. He was the husband of Rosemary (Michelli) Rupenski for 60 years.
Bill was born March 15, 1931. He was the son of the late William Harry and Catherine (Bartosinski) Rupenski. He is originally from Thomaston and as a young child the family moved to Waterbury. After he and Rosemary had their daughter, they moved to Wolcott where they planted solid roots.
Bill served our country in the Korean War as a Forward Observer for the U.S. Marines and was a member of the Wolcott VFW. He worked for many years at Scovill Manufacturing, Century Brass, Kurtz Farm and was a long time parishioner at St. Pius Church. Bill loved to garden, fish, watch football (avid Giants' fan) and watch the birds outside his window, but most of all, he loved to be with his family.
He is survived by his 6 children; William Rupenski and his wife Elisa of Wolcott, Ronald Rupenski of Florida, Stanley Rupenski and his wife Grace of Texas, Victor Rupenski and his wife Nancy of Wolcott, Allen Rupenski and his wife Toni of Florida and Teresa Arsenault and her husband Ray of Northfield. Bill also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his sister, Barbara Hickey of Waterbury. Bill is predeceased by his sister Rosalie Michaud.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the many medical professionals who cared for Bill for over the past 20 years. A special thanks to Dr. Jerome Sugar, MD; Naugatuck Valley Ear Nose, the staff at the Harold Leever Center and the CCU and Vitas staff at St. Mary's Hospital for the kindness and care that they provided.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held Wednesday Feb. 11 at 9:15 am from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, to St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd. for a funeral mass at 10 am with full military honors. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, Feb 10 at Woodtick Memorial. Burial will be held in the spring.
