Waterbury ~ Walter Hill, 85, of Waterbury passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. He was the widower of Laurette (Chevalier) Hill. Mr. Hill was born August 28, 1927 in Waterbury, son of the late Romeo and Regina (Savignac) Hill. He was a longtime and active member of the Shrine of St. Anne and retired from Alloy Foundry. He was a lifetime member of the Franco American Social Club and enjoyed hockey, gardening and watching sports. Mr. Hill leaves his sons, Robert Hill and his wife, Linda of Wolcott, Gary Hill and his wife Traci of Oakville and Richard Hill of Tampa, FL, his daughters, Pierrette Muccino and Francine Hill, both of Waterbury, seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Serge Hill and sister, Pauline Trepanier. The family would like to thank the staff at Wolcott View Manor for making the last month of Walters life pleasant. We would also like to thank the Vitas Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys for their compassion and caring. A special thanks to Dana Chatenauf, P.A. for going above and beyond for us and for her caring and compassion which touched us deeply. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 am from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to the Shrine of St. Anne for a funeral mass at 10. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
